WARDOGS Beginner Guide: Your First Match, Explained
The format: up to 100 players, three teams at once, fighting over one randomized 2×2 km Control Zone inside a much larger battlefield. The team with the most players standing inside the zone scores continuously; first to 100 points wins. Numbers in the zone beat kills outside it.
The one rule that bankrupts new players
You start with $10,000 — once. It is a seed, not a per-match allowance. Every life, you buy your weapon, sidearm, gear and vehicle out of that same persistent wallet, and dying loses the kit. Spend the seed on one hero loadout in your first hour and you will spend the next three fighting with a free rifle and no armour. Run the numbers first in the loadout calculator.
Your first lives
- Practice on the free firing range first — every weapon and vehicle is available there at zero risk.
- Run a cheap life: the free Bushmaster M17S / A-91 / KH-2002, or the Season 2 repriced AK74 at $800, with a $200 GGX 17. Our $3,000 Budget Zone Runner is a complete first kit.
- Until WARDOG Level 9 the vendor halves list prices for new accounts — your early mistakes are literally cheaper.
- Watch the quiet flank: with three teams, gunfire in one direction never means the whole enemy presence is accounted for.
How you actually get rich
Logistics, not fragging. Community measurements from the launch build put Hot Zone transport at $390 per passenger (plus $1,000 if they survive), Hot Zone kills at $1,500, and a delivered pallet at $2,500 against a $400 cost. The Cash & Earnings Planner turns your typical match into a savings plan for your first helicopter or tank.
