WARDOGS Season 3 Wipe Guide: What Resets, What You Keep
Wipe details checked 29 Oct 2026 against the sources cited on this page; no official Season 3 start date had been published at the time of checking
WARDOGS resets progress at the end of every season — that part is not a rumour; it is printed in the game itself. What gets mixed up in wipe discussions is everything around it, so this page keeps three kinds of claim separate: the game's own wording, statements attributed to the developers, and media or fan-site reporting. Where no source confirms a detail, the table says so instead of filling the gap.
When does Season 3 start?
Officially: no date yet. Bulkhead has announced that Season 3 is coming significantly earlier than originally planned, but has not published an official start date in the Steam news hub or on X.
A date of 12 November is Reported, not confirmed: the fan site wardogshub.gg traces it to a developer-tagged Steam account (brammflakes) replying to a player review on 23 October, saying Season 3 had been brought forward to that date, and notes that PCGamesN reported the same date on 25 October without naming a source. Treat it as a planning hint, not a deadline set in stone — plan for a reset in that window, and trust the in-game announcement when it lands.
The same fan site notes the developers said on their Hot Zone podcast that Season 2 — which began on 15 October — would run four to five weeks rather than the originally planned six to eight, and that seasons from Season 3 on are expected to run about three months with a smaller update halfway. Those are podcast statements as reported by a fan site, not a published schedule.
The reset rule, in the game's own words
The Gold Exchange panel in the game states the rule directly (quoted here via the wardogshub.gg wipe FAQ, which reproduces the panel text):
“At the end of a major update cycle your level progression and cash will be reset. The date of any major update and progression reset will be announced ahead of time. Any remaining cash at the end of a cycle will be automatically exchanged for gold bars.”
What resets and what survives
| On your account | At the season reset | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Reset — leftover cash is automatically exchanged for Gold Bars, not deleted | The game's own Gold Exchange panel text (quoted above); Insider Gaming's report of the developer update describes the same conversion |
| Level & XP progression | Reset | The game's own Gold Exchange panel text (quoted above) |
| Gold Bars | Kept | wardogshub.gg wipe FAQ, summarising developer statements |
| Gold Market cosmetics bought with Gold Bars | Kept across seasons | wardogshub.gg, citing Bulkhead co-founder Howard Philpott (29 August); Insider Gaming likewise describes Gold Bar purchases as permanent cosmetic unlocks |
| The season's exclusive Gold Market item | Kept by whoever unlocked it; only offered during its season | wardogshub.gg, citing Philpott |
| Weapon & vehicle unlocks on progression tracks | Not stated separately in either source. What is stated: the level progression those unlock gates hang off resets, and each season changes the progression order and XP curve, so this season's gates are this season's gates | Gold Exchange panel text; wardogshub.gg, citing the Season 1 changelog and Brammer |
| Vault items, including Twitch drops | Not stated — unconfirmed either way | wardogshub.gg marks this unconfirmed |
| Skills (a planned system, not yet in the game) | Reported to stay when the system arrives | wardogshub.gg, citing Brammer; see the XP note below |
A point where the sources pull in different directions — reproduced as reported, not resolved here: the in-game panel says level progression resets. Insider Gaming, reporting a Bulkhead developer update, adds that XP earned throughout Early Access is being banked and will be retroactively applied to future long-term progression systems — possibly including the planned Skills system — when those systems arrive. Both statements stand above as their sources give them; how banked XP will eventually count is a future-system question no official source has spelled out, so do not count on it either way.
The Gold Bar exchange: no rate is published
Leftover cash is exchanged for Gold Bars automatically — you do not lose it outright. But no fixed official exchange rate has been published: wardogshub.gg describes the exchange as happening at the gold rate on the day, and says that rate moves daily. Because no official, fixed rate exists, this site publishes no conversion number and no exchange calculator, and any fixed rate quoted elsewhere should be treated as unverified. The safe way to think about leftover cash: it turns into the currency that carries over, at a value nobody can quote you in advance.
How to spend before the wipe
Everything in this section follows from the table above and uses this site's Season 2 dataset prices. prices verified for v0.2.0, 23 Oct 2026 The logic is simple: a per-life purchase gives you value every time you use it between now and the reset; a one-time unlock fee only gives you value for the rest of this season, because the progression it hangs off resets — and next season's gates and item order may differ anyway.
1. Think twice before paying a big one-time unlock fee late in the season
The largest one-time unlock payments in the current dataset are the L2A6 Main Battle Tank at $500,000 (gate: Driver 35), the FAL at $250,000 (gate: Assault 35) and the M4 at $150,000 (gate: Assault 28). Paid in the season's final stretch, a fee like that buys access for whatever playing time is left before the reset — neither source lists progression unlocks as kept, and progression itself resets. If you will genuinely run the item for many lives before the reset, the maths can still work: total the per-life cost in the loadout calculator and judge for yourself. If not, that cash does more work spent per life — or simply converts to Gold Bars at the reset. Gate and fee figures are the dataset values from each item's database page; the in-game vendor is the authority.
2. Prefer per-life items you can use tonight
Per-life purchases have no season-length problem: you pay when you spawn, and every use happens before the reset by definition. The dataset's explicitly pay-and-go vehicles — their entries are marked “pay-and-go, no unlock” — are the Bobcat at $500, the Kodiak at $2,500 and the MH-6 Littlebird at $6,250. For a full kit, the Budget Zone Runner runs $3,000 per life — with the standing caveat from that page: its Level 3 Helmet may need a level unlock and the GGX 17 may carry a one-time unlock fee besides its per-life price; the specific conditions are unverified, and the in-game vendor is the authority.
3. Do not hoard cash for the conversion — and do not fear it either
Unspent cash is not deleted: it becomes Gold Bars, and Gold Bars and the cosmetics bought with them are what carries over. But because the exchange happens at a daily-moving rate that nobody publishes in advance, hoarding cash is a bet on an unknown number. Cash spent on lives you actually play has a known value; cash left over still converts. If you are saving toward something big, the Cash & Earnings Planner shows how many matches of transport and pallet work it takes — its earning rates are launch-build community estimates, labelled as such on that page.
4. Use vault stock this season
Neither source states what happens to unused vault items, including Twitch drops — wardogshub.gg marks it unconfirmed and gives the same advice we would: use it this season rather than counting on it carrying over.
